With regard to the Report of the Croatian Journalists' Association published on May 16, 2024, on the CJA website, regarding the reactions of some members of the CJA on the verdict of this Court in the dispute between the CJA President, Hrvoje Zovko, and Croatian Radio and Television, we declare:
It is not permissible to bring the judgment of the Supreme Court into the context of changes to Criminal Law, the results of parliamentary elections, lawsuits against journalists, the election of the Chief State Attorney, and in connection with other proceedings before the courts that were not the subject of decisions by the Supreme Court.
Such reactions discredit the work of the panel and the entire Supreme Court because the panel that decided in this case was guided by other criteria, primarily the law, the facts in the file and the stable judicial practice of this Court in such and similar situations.
On the attached links below, we present the judgment of our panel as well as the judgments in which the legal stances are expressed, from which it follows that there is a stable jurisprudence of many years on the legal issue that has been decided.
